Here's a picture of me riding from Guadalupe Mountains National Park (highest point in Texas, Guadalupe Peak is visible in the background, 8,700 ft) to Orla, TX (60 miles) in a group ride on March 28, 2004.  I had a lot of fun on the CGX 3.0, and I was much more comfortable than I was on the same ride last year riding a Trek 1000.  I am an Amateur Radio Operator and it was very easy for me to mount an antenna on the seat, a nearly impossible feat on an upright!  Thanks for making a great bike at a fantastic price!

Subject: Thanks for the bent
Thanks for building the Cycle Genius. I'm now a bent rider! Several years ago, I became intrigued with the bents, but the cost of the bike quickly cured that intrigue. But thanks to the CG, I now have fulfilled that desire.
Granted there may be those bikes out there that are faster, but they are also 5 to 10 times more expensive. While they might have the edge on MPH, I have the end on MP$. I don't plan to do any century rides, just quick jaunts around town. At 57, I now can do that in comfort. Something my mountain bike would not accomplish.
Sure, there may be other bikes that weigh less, go faster, or have high grade components, but none can beat the "bang for the buck".
Thanks for making an affordable bike that allows new riders to experience the bent experience.
Pleased rider,
Steve M

Hi,
Here's that picture I told you I would send.  I love my Cycle Genius and want everyone to know it! Happy riding!

Thanks for a beautiful fairing!
I just finished the Hotter Than Hell Hundred in Wichita Falls on my Cycle Genius equipped with a Zzipper fairing and I wanted to let you know how well it worked! Although the temp was 100 degrees by the time I finished, my tinted fairing kept the sun off my legs and kept me cool. For the last 10 miles or so we had a 20+mph headwind. I hardly noticed with my fairing! I passed many exhausted bikers on the way to the finish line. Thanks for a beautiful fairing!

Hi.
I just bought a used CG24s and already love it. I am new to recumbency and have only test ridden about 6 different models but fell into a great deal on this one. One thing that I thought would have helped me would be more photos of people actually riding your bike on the website...
...it would have helped me envision what the reviewers say about aggressive positioning, which may be a big selling point to newbies like me who don't want to get tied into an entry level machine only to have to upgrade a short time later. So you might consider adding photos of employees, friends, etc. on your bike...
   ...Thanks for the great bike.

Hello again,
A couple of months back I wrote the attached letter and received a very gracious response...

... please find attached photos which I hope can help somebody else to take the plunge into recumbency. By the way - my commute has been a dream on the CG, and I'm still absolutely in love with it!
Thanks.

Hi,
My wife and I just test rode your bikes while on vacation in Sunriver, OR. We had never ridden a recumbent bike before and I must say, we were pleasantly surprised with the ride and handling. We are now considering your bike to replace our old Treks.

Hi Kids
Now I have a new (to me) stx-24 and I love the thing. You guys are the best for inventing the bike I always hoped for.

Hello,
I test rode your new bikes (ALX-202 and STX-24) the other night at Bike World in Albuquerque, NM. I was very impressed.  I am planning on buying one in the near.
First a couple of observations:
For the price point and component selection on both of your bikes can't be beat!  These are great riding bikes at an incredible price.  I have been looking at recumbent for a while now.  I have ridden many of the Rans bikes, Bacchetta, Sun/Easy Racers, Burley, E-Bikes, Vision, etc.  Of all the bikes I have tried before the new Cycle Genius bikes I liked the Bacchetta Giro and the Sun EZ-Sport the best.
The Giro is a very quick handling fun bike that fits me like a glove.  The EX-Sport provides a nice stable ride and a better price point.  I found that the Cycle Genius filled in the gap very nicely between the two.  It has a quicker handling feel and is smaller and easier to handle than the sport but offers more stability than the Giro (especially at low speeds).
I am really looking forward to making my first recumbent a Cycle Genius.

Subject: my new bike!
I just purchased a new ALX- 20 in black.  I have been waiting patiently since September.  I am very pleased with this new ride.  This is my first recumbent.  I am 32 years old and have been riding diamond frames for 25 of those years.  I am tired of sitting on traditional saddles as my average ride time is one to three hours.  I can tell already I will be putting some serious miles on the ALX.
I did test ride the steel frame model with 16" front wheel at my local dealer.  The changes you have made on the ALX are a noticeable improvement.  The bike stabilizes out much quicker than the smaller wheeled version. Uphill starts were no problem. And boy is it fast downhill!  My first ride was Wednesday late afternoon, 45 degrees with gusts up to 25mph.  This bike is much more pleasant to push into a headwind than my upright bikes.
I bought my bike from Jeff my local ex-Schwinn dealer - Galion Cycling and Fitness.  I will still hit the dirt with my mountain bike but I have no plans for any traditional road bike now.  Thanks for a well designed and reasonably priced ride.

I received my CG-24S last Wednesday and I am having a great time riding it! I have gotten a lot of questions of where to get one. I have told them to check out your website. I also want to thank Matt for working with Ace Bicycle shop here in Clovis New Mexico so that I could get my recumbent.

I bought the CG-24s 2002 with the cheap tires.  I have since replaced them with the Maxxis Ring Worm 1.95 tires and the ride is fantastic it now seems to dance.  I love riding this bike and have ridden every night at least 4 to 5 miles a night.  I really look forward to the time with my CG.  I can’t believe the difference that just a set of tires could make.

Subject: New 2003 colors
Hi Guys at Cycle Genius,
I like the new colors, especially the blue/yellow fade.  But, man, I have to wait all the way until 2003!
Winter is coming and when the weather precludes me from riding I like to work on bikes.  My latest idea is a Cycle Genius for the dirt.  Do you by chance, maybe, perhaps sell only the frame, seat and fork, so I could add my own MTB components and tires and whatever else my little heart desires?  Yeah, I know, my husband thinks I'm crazy, too.
Thanks,  Susan T
I am taking a road trip soon on my Cycle Genius.  I was surprised by how much stuff I could stash behind the seat!  I have my tent, sleeping bag and Therm-A-Rest back there, no problem! I also added a rack for my panniers.  My Cycle Genius never fails to impress me!

Just wanted to drop you a note about your recumbent.
I bought one last week. I have bad carpal tunnel syndrome (too many years at the computer, I guess) and can no longer ride any type of upright without pain. I was doing research on recumbents (thank goodness) and not only discovered your product, but a dealer in Rocklin, CA.
I test road the CG-24 and really liked it. Years ago I had a BikeE for awhile and blew my knees out. I've found that your wider crank spindle has apparently cured that for me so far.
The bent appears pretty well made. I'm a bit of a snob, so I put my Avid V-brakes, on rebuilt the hubs, put the Kenda tires on, used my clipless pedals, replaced the road anchor crank with a new Tiagra, and replaced the Falcon front derailleur with an Ultegra (it barely reaches out there with the long crank spindle).
So far, I love the bike. I'm 40 and out of shape, but looking forward to riding again now that I can do so PAIN FREE! My hands don't hurt a bit. Your seat is fabulously comfortable and takes up the shock of rough roads really well.
I've got my lights and a Profile Aqua Rack on the handlebar riser for liquids. I need to extend the wire on my computer and figure out pump mounting and I'm all set.
I've sold my full suspension mountain bike and my road bike is up for sale. I don't miss them at all.
I believe you've got a great product here. I will recommend it to anyone who asks (lots of people ask my opinion on many things, bikes are one of them). The price was very affordable, especially for us poor "single income" families with small children.
Keep up the good work. Don't make the alloy model too good, or I'll be envious.
Thanks. Good luck with your business venture.

I Just purchased a new Cycle Genius from Nicollet South Bike Shop in Nicollet MN. Very pleased with their service.
After riding a couple of days I went to show my new purchase to my ministers husband, (he just upgraded to a Rans stratus) They had at one time lived in Texas and lo and behold they know your parents, and visited your bike shop the last time they were in Texas. Small world!!
Anyway I'm pleased with my Cycle Genius.
Thanks!

P.S. I think I have another friends wife interested in the Cycle Genius.

Recently purchased one of your bikes from Bikes 2 Ride in Spring, TX. I live in The Woodlands and I'm really enjoying the bike as I explore the miles of trails. Your bike has allowed me to enjoy cycling again and I think you have a great product.
Nice bike, I really enjoy it.
Thanks

I purchased my CG-24s on 4/24/02 and immediately went home and rode for 16 miles. I have never ridden a bike that was so comfortable. I plan on purchasing one for my wife if she is willing to learn how to ride one. Keep up the good work,
Sincerely

Subject: Help!!
Hey Guys!
What do you get when you cross a ride on a Cycle Genius, a bee sting (I won't say where), and a wooden fence?  That's right!  A bent front fork!  So help me out here.  Do you sell forks separately, or can you tell me where to get a replacement?  I will have to ride my other undesirable bikes until my poor Cycle Genius gets out of the hospital.  Please help soon!!!!

Matt,
   First Impressions:
Packaging was very well done and it arrived safe and sound without any evidence of shipment. Additionally, unpacking was very easy.
Assembly was very elementary and was accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. The only comment I received was one wishing the CG arrived with the chain on like the Sun/Easy Racer products.
Quality, fit, and finish are top notch! This really is a nice bike Matt! I had an opportunity to take it out briefly yesterday and more extensively this morning and have nothing but praise for its ride and handling. Bottom bracket height is great and not too high which is good as I've found my high BB SWB over the last few years seems to bring on foot buzz after a short while. Frame responsiveness seems to be a perfect blend of firmness for power transfer and yet, the ride is very plush and much more forgiving than one might expect for a shorter wheelbase. I always am interested to see if I can no-hand it for a while to test a bikes design for measure and the CG is an easy one. Apparently you've got this thing dialed in quite well!  As far as your seat design, I think it is unique and novel in its use of the springs. I've seen a few knocks and web rants about this but I find it is very comfortable and it noticeably smoothes out the ride.
Great job!  I think the CG is a winner and I'm pleased that we have been given the opportunity to sell these through our shop!  Thanks!
   Regards,
Jeff

Subject: MY new bike
HI: I just got my new (used) cycle genius home after a 4 mil bike ride. And I'm not quite used to the quickness of the steering. But it'll come. I looked at a few different bikes before I found this one and liked its features. I'm new at the recumbent so have a lot to learn. I plan on long bike rides this summer. I am an old man and need the creature comforts. My old bike, (which I road across Kansas). was getting to my back (and butt). I am now living in Sacramento Ca. and they have a lot of good biking trails here.
Just thought I'd drop you a line
Clark
